Nov 13 -- Maine Ag Dept. officials have sent draft coexistence rules to the Sec. of State. Development of the rules was mandated by the legislature. A public hearing is scheduled for Dec 14. The commend period closes Dec 28.

Nov 16 -- The University of California at Davis has a Website devoted to coexistence. In addition to news and information, the site contains a number of fact sheets authored by UC Davis faculty.  They include "Genetic engineering and pollen flow," "Methods to enable coexistence of diverse corn production systems" and "Genetic engineering and organic production systems
Officials in the Maine Department of Agriculture are working together with farmers and farm organizations to establish an environment where all types of agriculture -- conventional, organic, biotech-enhanced -- can coexist.  This page will track developments and offer links to resources on coexistence.
